Church Chair® will be celebrating its’ 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY in 2005. Company founder, John Sammons (a retired minister) and his wife, Ruth, created the company in 1985. Dean Sammons (President), Tammy (Sammons) Harper (Treasurer) and Michael Sammons (Vice President—Marketing) are successfully managing the day-to-day operations of the growing company of approx. 300 employees. Their mother Ruth still offers oversight as Chief Executive Officer. Church Chair® performs its entire manufacturing process in-house, including forming the steel, welding and other tasks many manufacturers contract out to other factories. Church Chair® is not at the mercy of a vendor for parts and can change their production at the drop of a hat in both of their manufacturing facilities. The Sammons’ only have one sibling who isn’t working at Church Chair®, and even he didn’t fall far from the tree. John Sammons has chosen to start his own business, upholstering and refinishing pews.
